Directed by Pandiarajan, this movie was remade in Telugu, Kannada and Marathi due to the interesting storyline and comedy.
Periya Pandi (Pandian) and Chinna Pandi (Pandiarajan) are sons of the village theatre owner (VK Ramasamy)
Those were the days of arranged marriages where the boy’s family went to the girl’s house to see whether she was well suited for their son.
Periya Pandi goes to the nearby village on one such visit but goes to the wrong house and falls in love with Seetha. His father does not approve of this and forces him to marry Revathi who was the girl he should have originally seen.
Periya Pandi adamantly refuses. Chinna Pandi intervenes and unexpectedly falls in love with Revathi. Both the brothers tie the knot with their ladyloves.
Pandiarajan is known for his trade mark ‘thiruttu muzhi’,which conveys better than mere words.He is supported by an entire comedy group of Janagaraj, Usilamani, Omakuchi, Thavakalai, Khaja Sharif, Pasi Narayanan and Ramesh Khanna. Pandiarajan shoving Thavakalai’s head into a pot ,the laddu and video player scene in Janagaraj’s hotel, the scene where Pandiarajan makes the car bang the wall while being asked by the driver while reversing are a trade mark Pandiarajan comedy.
